Febrile neutropenia

The MASCC* risk-index score for identification of low- and high-risk patients at presentation with febrile neutropenia

Burden of illness No or mild symptoms
Noderate symptoms
Severe symptoms
No hypotension (systolic BP > 90 mm Hg)
No chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Solid tumor or hematological malignancy with no previous fungal infection
No dehydration requiring parenteral fluids
Outpatient status
Age <60 yearss
